Bassett's Jelly Babies are widely considered the best jelly babies around.
Made with real fruit juice, Bassett's Jelly Babies have a hard outer "crust" and soft juicy centre with a dusting of starch that looks like icing sugar.
Jelly Babies were launched in Sheffield in 1918 to mark the end of the war, and were known as "Peace Babies". Production was later suspended because of the Second World War but were re-launched in 1953 as Jelly Babies.
Each Bassett's Jelly Baby has their own individual name and shape: Brilliant (red-strawberry); Bubbles (yellow-lemon); Baby Bonny (pink-raspberry); Boofuls 'the crying baby' (green-lime); Bigheart (purple-blackcurrant) and Bumper (orange).
