The Eccles Cake is a traditional English cake which is believed to have originated from the town of Eccles. Lancashire Eccles Cakes are the original Eccles Cakes and are still handmade to a traditional recipe.
The cakes are round and consist of a mixture of currants, raisins and sugar and are enclosed in a flaky, buttery pastry. Delicious with a cup of tea!
